Program Description
This annual handbook encourages First Nations high school students to attend post-secondary education in Saskatoon by facilitating a smooth transition from rural reserve to urban centre through highlighting important cultural and educational offerings in Saskatoon, including information on housing, money issues, on- and off-campus programs and services, among others.
Copies of the handbook are distributed to every on-reserve school as well as every First Nation and Tribal Council, in addition to being available online at www.steppingstonessaskatoon.ca.
Target Audience
Saskatchewan Aboriginal high school youth.
Impact
The Stepping Stones Student Handbook will encourage a higher level of Aboriginal post-secondary enrolment.

Future Vision
Into the future, the Stepping Stones Handbook will continue to encourage more First Nations and Métis high school students to pursue post-secondary education in Saskatoon and other centres. The number of topics and post-secondary institutes featured will be expanded. An Aboriginal youth career fair hosted by ESB with workshops based on topics in the handbook is being considered.
